Roman Project 252 Surpasses Expectation

06th August 2012

Leading UK shower manufacturer and designer, Roman Limited, have been delighted by the success of their Project 252 social media campaign. Conceived originally as a year in the life of Roman through photos, and managed on Flickr (it can be viewed at www.flickr.com/romanltd), the campaign has surpassed all expectations, as they reviewed it at the half way point of the year.

The campaign was created to give customers and end users a real insight into Roman as a manufacturing business and to highlight and celebrate the fact the Company is a British manufacturer. Roman was keen for suppliers and customers to get involved, but didn’t anticipate, just how big the response would be.

The company reviewed the project at the end of July and were astounded to see that their photos have had over 17,000 views in total. Many individual photos have exceeded 200 views, with the majority being viewed at least 100 times. The most viewed picture to date was their April Fools stunt, which at last count stood at 336 views.

Project 252 sees photos being uploaded to the Roman Flickr page on a daily basis; these are also then uploaded on a weekly basis to Roman’s own website. Roman shares the links to the photos via their Twitter and Facebook pages, which has been really well received by followers who are regularly ‘retweeting’ and ‘liking’ the photos.

The company have showcased a variety of different aspects of the business including: the manufacture of products, retail displays, completed projects, makeovers, charity events, the Olympic flame passing both Roman and some of the company’s retailers, staff members giving blood, the ISO audit, exhibitions and many other events. Countries featured in the album so far include: Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, France, Belgium, England, Scotland, Wales and Malta.

David Osborne, Managing Director at Roman, commented: “As we passed the half-way point of 2012, we decided to review Project 252, to understand how many people are looking at the photos and we were stunned to see that it is being viewed by so many. We are delighted that so many of our customers have themselves gotten involved and are sending photos in from all corners of the UK and the World!

“Some of the companies involved so far include: Dallmer, the BMA, the Antiques Roadshow, the Great North Run, Channel 5’s Half Built House, UK Trade and Investment, the Mail on Sunday, the British Heart Foundation, Roman at Home, IPC Media and of course many of our retailer accounts. If you would like to get involved in Project 252 we would be happy to receive your Roman related photos.”
