Roman reveal that HIX 2022 was the busiest design show that they have done in the UK.
On 17th and 18th November, Roman exhibited for a second time at the interiors and Hotel design event, HIX at the Business Design Centre in London, and due to the extremely high calibre of visitors that attended Roman’s stand they report that it was the busiest and one of the most successful design shows they have done in the UK.
Roman’s exhibition stand brought together different elements of the bathroom to create a tailored and fully integrated solution. The stand presented Shower Enclosures from their range of 16 metal colour finishes with Solid Surface Anti-Slip Shower Trays, seamlessly integrated with Roman’s vanity tops and basins.
One of the standout products on Roman’s stand was the pastel pink Solid Surface fluted vanity unit with industrial styled brushed brass frame and Roman Stone basin – all manufactured at Roman’s 400,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant in County Durham.
David Osborne, Chief Executive Officer at Roman, commented: “The first day at HIX was the busiest design show that we have done in the UK – and with an extremely high calibre of visitors. The evening was relaxed and sociable with networking intertwined with selling – making it a resounding success for Roman. We will definitely be back in 2023!”
Roman were extremely proud to support Ukraine amidst Russia’s invasion of the country.
Employees of Roman were quick to respond to the crisis by supporting local charities in donating essential items to people who are suffering in Ukraine and those escaping the war who have left with nothing.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) estimates that up to four million refugees may flee Ukraine and they urgently need help to provide protection and vital supplies to those forced to leave the country.
David Osborne, CEO at Roman, commented: “We stand with the people of Ukraine and hope for a quick and peaceful resolution on behalf of all those who are suffering.”
The UK and Europe’s leading shower designer and manufacturer, Roman, is thrilled to have won the Best Bathroom Product of 2022 at the KBBFocus Awards.
On 1st December KBBFocus held their Awards and Celebration at The Brewery in London and Roman were awarded the Best Bathroom Product of 2022 for their Colours Sliding Door Shower Enclosures.
Roman’s Colour’s Range was in development for over 2 years and brings a level of performance and specification to the market that has never been seen previously.
Roman launched a truly exclusive range of high specification Shower Enclosures in 11 colours. The Colours Sliding Door Shower Enclosures have a genuine breakthrough in the bathroom market as they feature a stunning soft close system – something never previously available due to the size, weight and complexity of 10mm thick glass.
The mechanism for the Sliding Door within the Colours Range elevates showering to a new level and achieves the genuine soft close experience for the very first time, leading the way in superior bathroom design.
The secret behind the sliding door soft close system lies hidden behind a plate inside the top rail. A heavy gauge spring system is activated when the 10mm thick door is moving and the last 50mm of door movement, opening or closing, is taken over by the soft close system and it slowly, quietly and elegantly takes the door to its destination.
Another design breakthrough offered by the Sliding Door is the finish of the top rail – it is shrouded by a rolled stainless-steel section which is an exact colour match for all of the brass elements in the product.
There are 11 colour options to choose from, making it the cutting edge of fashion and design in the bathroom – and all designed and manufactured in the UK.
David Osborne, Chief Executive Officer at Roman commented: “The Roman design team is constantly pushing the boundaries of our design and manufacturing capability. The Roman Colours Sliding Door showcases Roman’s design and manufacturing capability in a way that no range has before – and we are thrilled that it has won the Best Bathroom Product of the Year.”

Roman were delighted to welcome Mike Freer, the Minister for Exports, and Paul Howell, the MP of Sedgefield to its headquarters in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.

David Osborne, CEO of Roman, commented: “It was an honour for the Minister to take the time to visit our headquarters today involving a factory tour and a discussion on our International business. We gained some valuable insights into forthcoming legislation – most importantly for Roman, the UK’s accession into the Trans-Pacific Partnership which will significantly assist our exports into the Asia Pacific region.”

Roman were thrilled to once again support BBC’s flagship home renovation programme, DIY SOS: The Big Build, with two shower enclosures and solid surface anti-slip shower trays.
The build and filming, which was delayed for two years due to coronavirus, will air in the summer of 2022 and presents the Owen family from Longframlington in Northumberland. The house does not meet the needs of the family – Bobbie, 18, has long-term genetic disorders and complex medical and mental health issues. Her mother, Mary, sadly had a stroke in her cerebellum in 2013, after being bitten by a tick, and now has balance and ongoing difficulties so cannot handle Bobbie on her own.
The concern is that the house is unsafe and unsuitable for Bobbie due to her unpredictable nature and the threat of going into care is a reality. The build aims to bring the family of three generations together and ensure that Bobbie remains at home.
Roman donated two of their stunning Innov8 shower enclosures – a 1200 sliding door enclosure; and an 800 pivot door enclosure. In addition the company also donated two solid surface anti-slip shower trays with a recommendation to fit one of the trays using sunken installation for ultimate level access in Granny Carol and Granny Doreen’s bathroom.
Sophie Stanwix, Marketing Communications Manager at Roman, commented: “We are always very happy to support programmes such as DIY SOS. After a long 2 year delay it was so heartwarming to attend the big reveal on Thursday 31st March and see the deserving family’s reaction. Knowing that Roman played a part to make it happen is highly rewarding in itself. It is a wonderful programme and it is brilliant to continue our long relationship with the show”.
We have been involved in many impressive Projects in 2022 and one of the standout Projects for us this year was the Flagship Hotel, Hotel Indigo.
Hotel Indigo is in a prime location in the centre of Kuala Lumpur next to the KL tower. The Roman product selected for the prestigious Hotel was bespoke Liberty Shower Enclosures with incorporated towel rail handle – in Roman’s striking Brushed Brass metal finish.
